Department of Bioengineering
Imperial College London
Bioengineering at Imperial has a distinguished history, starting with pioneering research in the 1960s that shaped the emergence of the discipline. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise 75% of the Department's returned research was judged either 4* "world-leading" or 3* "internationally excellent". This excellent result reflected the continuing high standard of our research and confirmed our position as the leading Department of Bioengineering in the UK.
We are now expanding to maintain our leading position in basic and applied research, and to continue to provide excellent training in bioengineering through our popular undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.
